Hello!
As we head into fall, the Library will transform into a Halloween theme. The students are learning the Dewey system. It is a progression that they will keep learning and I am sure that some of us as adults are still learning about today!
The younger students are learning about taking care of books and how to choose books they can enjoy. Grades 2 and 3 are learning to understand the basics of Dewey and some library vocabulary. Grade 4 is studying biography/autobiography, fiction/non-fiction, article/periodical, almanac/atlas, and more. Jr. High will be soon choosing books to read to preschool and kindergarten.
In computer lab the Kindergarten and 1st graders are hard practicing with their mouse skills and learning the parts of the computer. 2nd graders are studying the keyboard and learning Internet safety basics. 3rd and 4th grades are working in detail with Microsoft Word. Jr. High has been busy on internet research at different levels.

Greetings!
Another school year has begun and the students here at Our Lady seem eager to learn!
There have been some wonderful changes in the Library. This summer the old storage closet was transformed into a wonderful open office with built in desk. Thanks so much to Dave B. for such amazing work! Mr. Bell spent a lot of time in moving books about the library so we could rearrange. I am very thankful for all their hard work!
I am looking forward to working with all the returning and new students this year. We will be a busy group as we continue to learn how to use the Library, continue typing lessons, and explore the world of computers.
Please remember that if you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please call me here at school.
Dates to look forward to this year will be November 10-19 as we welcome the Scholastic Book Fair back to the Library!
We are also hoping to get underway very soon with our wonderful Bruins Drama Club. Look for more information on our next play! We also need volunteers for Drama too!
